Large scale, archival rated digital print on canvas suitable for block mounting or mounting over a stretcher frame

DESCRIPTION

'Evolution in Progress' was a piece that was developed for the Black Swan Prize for Heritage in 2013. The work was selected as a finalist and hung at Linton & Kay Gallery in Perth city the same year. The image incorporates photography, painting, etching and digital processes and has been developed as a large scale limited edition print. The underlying image is of the Old Perth Treasury during it's multi-million dollar refurbishment into what is now the world class hotel, COMO the Treasury. When I first photographed the building it was almost completely obscured by scaffolding, which I found fascinating and really got me going on the idea of how buildings evolve over time. I then overlaid historical images of the same building at different periods in time and added artistic effects with paint and other physical processes to unite the imagery and give the print the sense of being a relic of the past. A mounted and framed canvas print currently hangs in COMO's library.
