DESCRIPTION

The stalker becomes the stalked! An American Crocodile tactfully approaches our dive boat at the Gardens of the Queen, Cuba. From above the water, despite how shallow it was, it is nearly impossible to spot these guys, but with my snorkel and mask (and camera in hand) I managed to carefully cruise behind this one to get this shot. American crocs aren't quite as aggressive as their Australian cousins and with care it is a little safer to be in the water with them. Using a 50mm lens opened up to F4 gives this picture an unusual perpective for this kind of image. It creates a realistic 3-dimensional effect to put the viewer in the place of the photographer.
