Artwork Description

Photograph on paper

Signed and numbered with a certificate of authenticity.

I set up the camera, composed and focussed and hoped light of the setting sun would complete my picture. More often than not, I set up my camera and wait only to realise I'm not going to find the light - or it isn't going to find me.

On this summer afternoon, however, slivers of soft golden light did arrive to brush across the pylons holding up the jetty.

'Photography isn't real until I can feel it. The print is the tactile confluence of light and shadow - when my creative process is fully and properly realised.'
