When I was a kid, I didn't quite understand what my mother did for work. All I knew is that she worked in agriculture and knew a lot about plants. She explained to me that she worked with Canola - "It's what our margarine is made from".
From then on I would always point out the "Margarine paddocks" to my mother. She would laugh and I couldn't understand why.
"Margarine" plays tribute to the remarkable colours of the Canola flower that painted my surroundings every Spring as a child.
