This work is from a series called “Glob Life”.
The word glob is often used to describe thick paint applied to canvas. As I am interested in the "painterly" aesthetic inherent in my photographic work, I thought it apt to explore this further.
The materials that make up this investigation are contrasting in terms of their photogenic qualities. The slick seductive surface of glass is contrasted with the powdery, chalk like surface of clay. In this series, these material contrasts are unified by their shared formal elements and colour palette.
This artwork is printed on archival rag paper that is 61cm x 89cm (W x H).
This work was created in camera and through the lens.
