This work is a response to the incredible stone escarpments and cliff faces of the Jenolan landscape. The drive down to Jenolan Caves, and the drive back up, brings you nervously close to these amazing natural formations. At times they appear as natural cathedrals - especially beneath the Grand Arch at Jenolan Caves.
Both the ancestors of this land, and the ancestors of my own heritage deified and sanctified stone in the landscape, and mountainous landscapes still evoke awe and wonder. They sing a song millions of years old.
As an escarpment meets the sky. A landscape in red, mauve, lavender and grey.
