Artwork Description

This piece came from an abandoned canvas, several missed buses, and a need to express the monotony of an academic schedule. It's an urban response to classically 'definitive' or descriptive portraiture. It's also an homage to my magnificent head of grey dreadlocks, which went the following day after years of faithful service. The yellow, brightly lit outside world is part from the figure, delineated in orange, lit in the blue glow of a laptop screen, wearing a red dress. While no facial features show on the surface, underneath is a skull, as there always is beneath the surface of life. A memento mori to myself.
