Evince looks at the complex form of the human figure contrasted with the simplicity of minimalistic shapes & colours in order to create a conflict of focus point.
The paint is used to mask the identity of the self & allow the person to become a canvas that's symbolic of the human form. The boldness of the colours used is to draw the viewer's eyes away from the human form, & instead allow the simplistic shapes to become the focal point. It is these two juxtaposes that contest for the attention of the audience, in a struggle that both of them succeed & fail.
