Artwork Description

Other Media on linen, ready to hang.

Signed on the back.

This work is from a series I made from linen and wool. I like to explore the qualities of different materials. After experimenting in using wool in my work I began sewing dense, long rows of stitches onto the linen surface and then cutting down the middle of them, which formed rows of thick carpet lines.
On viewing the work from a distance it looked like a painting, the different colours resembling brush strokes and splotches of paint. A love of rich textures and vivid colours is a common theme in my work.
The tapestry wool used in this work is treated to be resistant to moths and other insects.
'Autumn' would add warmth and cheer to any room with it's rich colours and tactile features.
