Artwork Description

Watercolour on paper

Signed on the back.

In my most recent work, I have been exploring the qualities of watercolour. In the making of this work I applied large droplets of water, one by one, added the watercolor to each droplet, carefully lifted the paper so the drip of colour ran the length of the paper. I did this repeatedly on each edge, so the grid pattern is formed from each drop running down the paper, on all four edges, creating what I thought of as a weaving pattern from the paint. I enjoyed the overlapping effect where the lines intersected and the randomness of the droplets moving down the page.
