Watercolour on paper
Signed on the back.
I began this work by painting a large watercolour on beautiful, quality watercolour paper with very vivid colours. The initial patterns were very unstructured, delicate and flowing and I thought it would be interesting to cut the work into a series of circles and reconfigure them in a highly structured grid formation as a contrast to the fluidity of watercolour. I enjoyed seeing each little individual circle of paper become a miniature painting in itself in this process. I have sold other artworks very similar to this one and I was thrilled to hear one buyer comment that she loved having the artwork in the central living area of their home and that the whole family have enjoyed the bright colours and delicate patterns within the work.
