I think they should change the phase "Thoughts and Prayers" to "Thoughts, Prayers and Donations" because that would work better. After reading about Firefighters funding their own masks, I was compelled to paint this.
You can interpret this artwork in anyway you want. Some people may see is a poke to politicians saying "Thoughts and Prayers" and not actually doing anything about the situation, or you may see it as a seeing the love from everyone thinking about our firemen while they tackle our blazes.
Ironically, when I finished this picture, the next day a bushfire came close to my home and was suppose to evacuate....
