SURVIVOR (Cazneaux tree), is an extremely old and famous tree found in the Flinders Ranges in South Australia by the photographer, Harold Cazneaux. Also named "The Spirit of Endurance", this lone tree still exists in this harsh environment and is accessible all year round. It's endurance and resilience was a great inspiration to me so I just had to capture him on canvas. This tree is a river red gum and has been listed with the National Trust due to its outstanding aesthetic beauty. I hope my viewers will enjoy my interpretation of this majestic specimen. I used quite a lot of texture on his leaves and also on the Ranges in the background. This piece was rendered in quality oil paints on a gallery stretched canvas, ready to hang for its new home.
