Unquestionably one Australia's most iconic emblems, The Laughing Regent looks out from amidst his banksia print wallpaper with possibly one of REK's most soulful eye's yet. Fine details progressively diminish into wide brush strokes and working sketch marks until the subject vanishes. This is the familiar commentary which has become the central theme in REK's recent work focusing on the threat Australian wildlife faces through habitat loss.
