High on the cliffs above Frenchmans Bay is a spot looking out over the ocean. A great place to sit with an ice cream and watch the ocean roll in. Surfers, Turtles, Dolphins and Whales can all be seen out among the waves.
Frenchmans Bay, North Straddie was started as a plein air painting on the clifftops over the bay. As the tide worked its way out, the painting slowly took shape. The rocky point in the bottom of the painting has beautiful shadows and reflected light bouncing off the sand. Some of the locals used this as a shortcut up the cliff rather than taking the long walk back to the path at the other end of the beach.
