Artwork Description

Oil on linen, ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

This artwork comes with an external frame

the painting began with a beautiful silk embroidered Kashmia Shawl i brought back from India. When deciding on the background I used a statue of Pan thus invoking the story of Beckie Sharp willing to sell her pearls and everything else to go to the fair. Vanity Fair originated in John Bunyan's 16th century novel 'The Pilgrims Progress' and is not a pleasant place for a young girl.
