A study of the nude in watercolour was something I’d wanted to do for a long time. I particularly like to paint or draw figures and portraits, but mostly in oil or pastel. The light and shadows captivated me on this model and I painted her by layering the colours down some while wet, others once dry as a way to create luminosity in the skin tone.
