Rochelle is an abstract artist who communicates deep heart-centered emotions through colour. Starting with soft and neutral tones she then builds layers of visual texture. Her work is mostly medium to large scale and uses simplistic compositions in an effort to create calm in a complex world.
Rochelle is inspired by spiritual inquiry. ‘Spirit’ being in existence in all organic materials including the paint she uses. The subject matter explored is often a reflection of the vitality existent in the natural world and how we are connected to it. Taught that a vibrant and joyful life is something we work toward, and knowing that it actually exists in the stillness; a natural harmony that the natural world returns to on its own without striving or effort. Her multi-layered approach signifies the depth and complexity of the seen and unseen world, her exploration of colour is used to show not only the breadth of imagination, but also harmony and contrast.
Rochelle is an emerging artist and will be in her first art show in October of 2024.
