Bool lagoon is one of the largest freshwater lagoons in South Australia and is a haven to hundreds of bird species and provides a wonderful refuge to endangered birds during drought seasons.
The “Bool” has provided me with a point of reference for making art works since the early 80’s and has fostered my interest in interpreting the natural world.
Bool Lagoon is officially a game reserve and that brings its own contradictions, and the actions of shooters still resonate with me when I return to the over whelming beauty of the wetlands, a beauty often ignored by the hunter.
It is a place to contemplate in memory and actuality, it is the place to be quiet, breathe and watch the weather roll over you and observe the conversations of the wildlife and the discussion between the water and the sky
