This picture trys to recapture the
Ambiance of a couple of days way
Back in 1979 when after a gig my
Band played I ended up spending
3 days in Centennial Park in Sydney.
Having consumed some LSD I was
Too paranoid to go home and face
My family and that stuff would just
Not wear off.
Visually it was a tour de force of the
Senses but physically it wore me out
And by the 3rd day I was spread eagled
On the grass yearning for a reprieve.
Having solved all the world’s problems
And walked literally what seemed like into
A Bosch painting the drug slowly
Capitulated and I ambled back to the house
In Paddo and crawled surreptitiously into
The heaven of a warm bed.
This is a beautiful painting and needs a loving home.
