Artwork Description

Photograph on paper

Signed on the front.

Japan is one of my favourite countries. I lived there as a kid and back in early 2019 I holidayed there with my family. I left Japan in the mid 80s so obviously a lot had changed. But customs and the kindness of people remained. And along with an array of modern architecture, the traditional still prevailed. Shooting on film gave me a sense of nostalgia and the fact I like to challenge myself with just the one shot of any subject makes it sweeter when the images turn out better than expected.

This photo of a uniquely Japanese statue is taken at Inari Shrine, Tokyo.

This image is a part of a series of work entitled Konnichiwa I exhibited in early 2020.

Please note my work is print-on-demand and I don't hold stock. Please leave a minimum of 7-10 working days for printing plus postage time.
