This work forms part of a series exploring areas of natural interest around the Perth metro area. This painting was inspired by Bell's Rapids, and the constant movement and winding path of the water as it makes it's way through the rocks. The colours are a reflection of the wildflowers that are abundant in spring, and some of the natural linen has been left exposed, adding wonderful texture, and rawness to the painting. The small pieces of acrylic mirror reflect the environment that they are placed in, glimmering and flashing with life.
The painting is a representation of my own interactions with the environment rather than a physical reproduction of any particular scene.
This joyous work comes framed in a raw wood floater frame, it is ready to hang.
Framed measurements are: 63 x 63 x 6cm
