I have been eyeing up the Stenocarpus /Firewheel trees (planted by the council) along Edgeware Road for some time now. The flowers are just out of reach but I've been wanting to grab one to study and make a drawing from. Anyone familiar with this street will know that it is a high traffic area and not really the spot for discreet 'community pruning with your secateurs'.
Last month, on my walk home from a concert at the Enmore Theatre (slightly tipsy I might add), I seized the opportunity, jumped on my husband's shoulders and swiped a branch! This watercolour drawing is the result. Painted the following day (sober, I might add).
This limited edition Giclée print of my original painting has been professionally printed using archival inks on textured cotton rag paper. All of my prints are hand signed, numbered, catalogued and come with a certificate of authenticity.
