Sometimes I feel like painting flowers from life and sometimes - as with this painting, I like to remove much of the form and focus on the simplicity of shape and composition only. This requires studying my specimens and drawing from life, then putting the reference out of sight and using memory and a sprinkling of artist's license to create my stylised still life paintings.

This sweet painting will please native plant enthusiasts and Mid century fans alike, featuring a Bitossi Blue Rimini Vase, King Protea and Coastal banksia. Painted on to beautiful thick textured watercolour paper. Unframed.
