Vibrant watercolour painting on cream textured Saunders watercolour paper with deckled edges all sides. My work is inspired by the plants growing in the streets and gardens of my inner city neighbourhood. There's a giant Protea tree growing in a front garden on Llewellyn Street Enmore, and I've been meaning to include it in one of my paintings for sometime now. I finally snapped some photos last week and got to work on this piece which also features a kookaburra. The subtle blue/grey hues of this work combined with the pinks of the protea flowers make for a really beautiful, calm colour combination. This work is the second painting in a small series of works based on the same theme.
