This giant work on paper consists of 3 separate panels each measuring 56cm x 76cm. Overall size of the work when hung together is: 168cm wide by 76cm high. Requires framing.
This Australian statement piece is a good example of my most recent work. This is my best work to date and shows the development of my style as I push myself further in the direction of landscape painting.
This painting features one of my favourite trees which I refer to as Mrs Macquarie's Gum. She can be found at my favourite picnic spot in Sydney's Royal Botanical Gardens. Her twisted serpent like trunk sits low to the ground and my small children are able to climb her branches and get up close and personal with the resident Kookaburras or bumble bees feeding on the gum blossoms, depending on the season.
I like to use drawings from both life studies and add my own imagination and memory which explains the stylised nature of my work. Please do not be put off if you are worried about how to frame this work. I would ask the framer to select a thin plain frame for each individual section (think of it as framing 3 separate pieces and hanging them all side by side) I wouldn't include a border mount. If the framing is a deal breaker for you and you would like me to arrange framing for you at an extra cost, please get in touch with the Bluethumb team who can assist you.
