This still life watercolour sketch features Banksias, Leucadendron and Eucalyptus leaves arranged in a ceramic vase. It's painted on lovely textured watercolour paper. This is one of my sketches from life; I use these drawings as a basis for my stylised botanical works, getting the forms and details down before simplifying. They are full of energy and quite exhilarating to paint.
