Magpies visit the huge old fig tree in my back yard, their singing and chatting is a constant background soundtrack in my house, especially out the back where I work. This one is rather beautiful with his intricate feathers, and has been painted onto cream coloured board and given a bit of a street art/urban feel.

My neighbourhood is semi industrial and the nature co-exists with concrete, pollution, industry and graffiti. I like it that way to be honest, and enjoy the juxtaposition of gritty chaos and beauty side by side. I'm starting to include some of these urban elements in my work as my style progresses. I feel it represents my unique environment more accurately.
