A day at the beach inspired this painting. Seeing the man relaxing on the cliff top watching the surf and the swimmers below struck me as a very iconic Australian image. The sun was hot and high and the memories of beachside picnics - complete with basket and rug, came flooding back. As I look at this picture I can hear the noise of the surfers and the waves coming up from the beach.
