Artwork Description

I first started painting owls in 2014 when two owls decided to call the gum tree in my families back yard home. Our beloved tree was bare of leaves and close to dying. Within a week of the owls first visit the tree flourished and was blanketed in a sea of vivid green leaves. As it turns out Owls are a symbol of change. I was very sick at the time with a symptom flare of my chronic condition P.O.T.S, which saw me bed bound for months. I painted the owl, in the hopes that it would bring about renewed health for myself as the owls had done for our gum tree.

I now paint owls whenever I feel a change is about to occur in my life, to signify significant meaningful events or when I feel 'stuck' and in need of some sort of shift in regards to my physical or mental health or in life in generally.
