Whenever I feel a creative block or spend too long painting in one particular style I often find the best way for me to reset is by simply painting an abstract portrait, much like my abstract release series of 2017 this is the 1st in a two portrait set that i created to hit the artistic reset button. I dont know why but I feel clearer after painting portraits such as these. They are for me a hugely emotive experience.
