Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
This artwork started as a totally abstract piece that i had not intended to transform into a portrait. That was until i had completed the background and felt the white section demanded a face within the given space. This is another in the One Take series where i create a portrait in a single session without a draft sketch, this time around i added further colours to it after completion of the initial lines of the portrait. I love the different textures in this work, the sleekness of the spray paint, the texture of the gold leaf and the roughness of the white undercoat beneath the face that was applied with a foam roller. All in all i find this image to be quite captivating.
