Encaustic medium is an ancient and long lasting form of painting with beeswax and damar resin. It was found in Egypt and the Greek term encaustic means to burn in. Fusing each layer of encaustic medium with heat or flame is an essential part of creating with this ancient medium.
Dress Up 1 is ready to hang with the sides also finished with encaustic medium although the new owner may choose to frame the piece.
