My love in painting is colour. Colours that ‘sing’, create a vibrancy and emotive response are the key to my art. The everyday is my focus, the ‘ordinary’ that we often overlook. Pattern plays a great part in my work both in the subject and in the reflected shapes and repetition of forms.

The colours of the Mediterranean influence me from my childhood and the strong, sharp light of Australia has long been a focus in my art, the shadows and crisp definitions forming a major stylistic interest.

The importance of expression, the love of decoration, simplicity and light is central to my art. I have no ‘great message’ I simply try to offer a joyous rendition of personal space and the world around us.
