A still life study of one of our native Fuchsia Gum flowers (Eucalyptus Dolichorhyncha). This unique Eucalyptus has the most intriguing red pods, with a bright yellow flower, that only just protrudes from the seed when flowering. I walk past one of these fuchsia gums on my daily dog walk. When flowering it is engulfed in the most beautiful pops of red that cover the tree from head to toe. Its only when you look a little closer that the delicate tendrils of the flower reveal themselves beneath the gnarled sheaths.
