Sarah Tracton is a multi-disciplinary 2D and 3D artist. An award-winning filmmaker, Sarah is a recent BFA graduate in Ceramics at the National Art School, East Sydney. Her work has featured in the the Journal of Australian Ceramics, House and Garden Magazine and Vogue Living. Sarah has been a finalist for the ACMD Acquisitive Art Prize, Victorian Craft Awards, Contemporary Art Awards and the Klytie Pate Award.
In the final year of her BFA, Sarah refined a technique of of building architectural porcelain slabs from pouring wet porcelain slip onto a smooth plaster surface. Marbled chromatic landscape panorama coloured surfaces akin to landscape topography are the result. Each piece is unique, with vast variations in coloured surface patterns. Sarah's freehand drawings in pen are improvised with no preconceived planning, resembling 3D anatomical structures within the human body .
In July 2018, Sarah's first solo exhibition will feature at St Heliers Street Gallery in Abbotsford Convent Melbourne.
