This richly coloured, textured painting was inspired by the lovely jacarandas in my suburb, which are a year-round source of visual delight, and the joy of walking the family dog early in the morning. Such romantic trees, they are equally at home in the garden of a period style home as they are in a park or in today's changing landscape of modern houses. Harmonising contemporary pallet knife texture with romantic impressionistic style was my goal for this painting. If you enjoy exciting, swirly buttery texture - think Van Gogh - then this painting really delivers that. The colours are moody, with soft light popping through the colourful blossoms. During the COVID lockdowns in 2020 the simple joy of walking the family pet and enjoying nature while exercising is even more precious.
Its shallow edges allow for easy framing. However it is painted around all sides, so no need to frame.
