The inspiration behind this set of canvases is my love of nature and the elements from which has sprung a series of works exploring these subjects. This set explores the colours and symbol of air with its qualities of dreams, inspiration and new beginnings. Number 1 shows new life stirring in the nest and eggs and flowers blooming. Number 2 has a copy of an antique botanical print and images of butterflies that are all about new beginnings and dreaming. Number 3 shows the Fool tarot taking a leap of faith and stepping into his/her new life with a beautiful bird looking on. The compass points the way. I love putting together images and photos with layered art. This set of canvases have deep sides that have been textured, painted with raw umber and highlighted with gold metallic paint. They are finished with two layers of satin varnish that protect the work and make the colours pop!
