It feels like I’ve been barely able to catch my breath over the last little while. Do you know that feeling? So many things coming at you that you feel like you’ve barely made it up for air when yet another wave of trial comes crashing down? You’ve barely caught your breath before the next wave hits. Sometimes you get swept up in a tidal wave of more than a few waves at once and you wonder how you’ll ever stop from drowning. I was reflecting on these thoughts when I created this painting. But somehow it wasn’t quite ‘finished’ - until I added some trees.
The trees centered it. Stabilized it. Drew focus. Added depth. Just like the coast in reality does that for me. It grounds me. Helps me shift focus. It centres and calms me.
Here along breezy shorelines I’m forced to steady my heart, quieten my mind, and reflect on the beauty that surrounds me. Here under breezy, pretty skies at dusk, watching the waves come and go, resting on grassy banks I feel like I can breathe again. Slowly. Surely. Breathe in…breathe out…repeat.
This palette knife painting is created on artist quality cotton stretched canvas, framed in handcrafted Ash timber, satin varnished, and comes with a COA.
Thank you for considering this artwork for your space. I hope it inspires you to do as it suggests, “Breathe In, Breathe Out…Repeat”.
NB: While every effort is made to capture the true colours and details of my artwork, every screen is different and art viewed online does not do my work justice. Slight differences may be evident between a screen image and the true tone of my work which is more vivid and beautiful in reality. Scale may also be slightly off due to the insitu art app used, so please ensure you measure your space. Thank you!
