This portrait was painted in response to the British "Brexit" vote to exit the EU in 2016. Our house guest, Harry, a young politically savvy Briton, was devastated by the vote. Many of his peers regretted not voting....some who did vote regretted their contribution to the final decision. Democracy is a valuable and powerful institution. Flawed, but not to be taken for granted.
