Oil on paper, ready to hang.
Signed on the back.
I wanted this one to be like a book. You can read around the sides, there are subtitles around the edges and I've tried to incorporate the existing book illustrations where possible. It's amazing to me that a book 130 years old can still have enough strength and body to accept oil paint. If you're into obscure book references, look at the back of the piece. You'll see a brick pattern. I've glued a layer of 1980s library catalogue cards underneath everything. No one will know that it's there, except you and I. They just add weight to the piece, literally. After all, libraries and books are the basis of literature and learning, right? Lightly varnished and ready to hang.
