Strip maps have a different painting challenge than just whole page maps. I have to think differently in my composition. The existing colour on this 1980s NSW to Adelaide map seemed to look like yellow dry sand changing to orange wet sand before hitting the ocean. A good opportunity to do a single figure. Oil on original map applied to stretched canvas. Ready to hang or be sent to the framers if you so choose.
