There was a time when young girls were encouraged to practise their sewing by making dolls clothes, but somehow we've lost that. Such a shame. When my son was around 9 years old, his room needed new curtains, so I hauled out my sewing machine, showed him what to do, and he made his own, with help. That was a one-off endeavor but at least he knew he was capable! Lightly sprayed with varnish for protection. Timber floating frame.
