Stamps used to be miniature artworks in themselves but as we send fewer and fewer letters they're heading towards obsolescence. These postally used 1970s Australian stamps have been individually glued to stretched canvas to create a new story. As they were part of Australian gemstones series, I decided to keep the jewels and fashion theme, but text is important to the story too. I've added gold lettering to write messages in her hair, but overpainted the words so that they just become texture. The words in the necklace are just added bling. Ready to hang. Canvas edged with painted scarlet sides.
