I was born in Canada so all things French are a part of me too. Working on an original 1956 invoice from a shoe manufacturer in France, I added a background from a 1960s French fairytale book. Vintage backgrounds have a lovely backstory of wrinkles, blots and staple holes. I like that. I made the box frame in painted, rough timber that reflects the age of my working materials. Sprayed lightly with varnish but best kept out of direct sunlight.
