Artwork Description

Acrylic on stretched canvas, ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

Nelson is a beautiful new painting from my Mid-Century series conveying the timeless quality of simplicity in form and colour to calm the mind and senses. Reminiscent of the screen printing textures of yesteryear Nelson captures the essence of Mid-Century's organic sculptural forms and clean lines.

Nelson is named in honour of the American designer, architect and author George Nelson, known for his innovative, functional and sculptural designs. He is quoted as saying that for a designer to deal creatively with human needs, “he must first make a radical, conscious break with all values he identifies as anti-human”. Designers also must constantly be aware of the consequences of their actions on people and society.

Nelson is painted on stretched canvas with 3.8cm sides and is ready to hang in your beautiful home.
