An oil painting of a solitary bumblebee pollinating a sunflower expressed as a limited edition print run. While the painting style is that of the early 20th Century to which multiple seeds of reference are given, the painting aims to isolate the notion of longing and loneliness as established through the solitary nature of the bumblebee in opposition to that of its cousins such as the very social hive-mind of the honey bee. Pitted against the backdrop of a sunny, warm, summer sky and the flower which epitomises social form and lazy summer days, the solitary bumblebee is a stark example of the isolation in which those experiencing the 21st Century malaise of longing and loneliness experience by themself.
