About

I am an artist with a background in science. When I turned to art full time I tried to forget all I knew about science; I tried to not think so much. I gave myself a new Identitiy - Sid Sledge.. he was the brave explorer.. man action.. not the thinking type.. I did this for years, often painting plein air around the streets of Sydney, Johanesburg and Hyderabad in India. One day in 2013, while doodling, I did a sketch... and I noticed it was all about science.. about the beauty and mystery that it tries to unravel.. which I had forgotten. Since that moment I have been on an adventure, tying the ideas of art together with science, to see what emerges. Much mof my new work is a link between art and science, and I have also collaborated with scientists - most recently a quantum physics group at the University of New South Wales, in Sydney Australia.
