When I look at our rockery garden from the kitchen window, I see it in a certain way, from a certain perspective, but I can shift my gaze to see the distant hills or the road winding it's way up the mountain. When I'm actually working in the garden I see and experience it in a completely different way, I get to see the detail of the flowers and foliage, the insects, the birds, and all the life and energy that is impossible to see from a distance, but I can still adjust my focus to see beyond this detail to yet another view of the same garden. With the flow of time the garden changes it's colours and moods, not just within a day but throughout the year. With my pictures I want to capture this more complex experience of the subject, not just a single point perspective captured in a single moment.
