Other Media on wood, ready to hang.
Signed on the back.
This piece was inspired by the return to life in Australia's central channel country, after floods earlier in 2019 up in central Queensland. Over a couple of months, the water wends its way ever so slowly, rejuvenating parched country. But life is revived, and seeds germinate, revealing a colourful blanket of bloom of grasses and small flowering native annuals.
The flow of encaustic wax, and how it takes on pigments is often incidental and surprising.
Small flaws in the finished surface are inherent in the medium, and become part of its charm.
